To be considered for an award, nominees must meet the following:

PLEASE NOTE

Kindly read through the following information first, before moving onto the nomination page. We would just like to ensure that you are aware of what we are looking for in our nominees and that they meet the criteria required for entry.


  • Your nominee must service the leisure tourism or business tourism industry. (ie. not concerts, fashion, sports events or weddings)
  • Please nominate a business/company for all categories except Future Leaders in Tourism, Conference & Event Organiser of the Year, Tour Operator of the Year and Digital Tourism Influencer of the Year which can be a person/business.
  • The person or business you nominate must operate within the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.
  • To qualify for the Future Leaders in Tourism Award, your nominee must be 35 years or younger and have been in business for 3 years or less.
  • All nominees in the Accommodation Excellence categories (Best Hotel or Resort, Best Guesthouse, B&B or Lodge, Best Backpacker or Campgrounds and Best Homestay Experience) will need to be graded by the South African Grading Council. If they have not yet been graded, they still have time however they will not move past the nominee phase if their grading is not current and up to date.

Unsuitable nominations will be rejected, or may be moved to a more appropriate category.


PLEASE NOTE: The nominee only needs to be nominated ONCE to be entered into the competition. This is not a public voting system, so if your nominee has already been nominated then there is no need to nominate them again.

 

Once the nomination phase is closed, your nominee will be contacted for their agreement to take part in the process – they have the right to refuse.
